Master/Slave Question?

How can i receive one of my hard drives a master and the other one a slave. In Microsoft Virtual PC 2007?



Some one told me within Y! answers to change the jumper so one is master and the other is slave, how can i do that in Microsoft Virtual PC 2007?

Microsoft Virtual PC 2007provide virtual device in which you hold virtual hard drives (but is independent of physical concrete disk characteristics)



While you can create multiple virtual hard drives as Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 take care of the setting. There is no physical concept of master and slave for virtual thorny drives, and thus you cannot create one hard drive a master and the other one a slave surrounded by Microsoft Virtual PC .
Master/Slave is a HARDWARE setting not a SOFTWARE setting.



Open the case and the jumper are on the back of thedrives. Typically the master is at the finishing of thee cable and the slave is in the middle.

Don't use Master/Slave settings. Set the harddrives for Computer Select so the hardware can set the Master/Slave depending on the location on the IDE cable.



If you are using SATA's, you set that stuff surrounded by the BIOS but should still plug your Master into the first SATA slot and so on.
