My DVD/CD Drive isn't working - can anyone oblige?

When I put a compact disc in near it doesn't read it and it makes this extraordinary rrrrrrrr - rrrrrrrr - rrrrrrrrrr sound :(

It make me very intensely sad.

Is within anything I can do or do I have to replace the drive?

My DVD/CD Drive isn't working - can anyone oblige?

The one entry you can try before junk the DVD/CD drive is getting a drive cleaner. The lasers/lense on the motor that read the information off CD's and DVD's might not be getting a clear read, which cause the straining sound you hear. A cleaner is around $10 or so and even if you enjoy to get a current CD/DVD drive, it is a good investment so you can verbs any CD or DVD drive next to it to help state the health of the drive. If your current drive still doesn't work, the lense or other parts of the drive might be diluted beyond repair. They are not super expensive anymore, and can be easily replaced. If you obligation any more info, don't hesitate to email.

Good luck :)
Try other CD's of a different category (like music or antivirus), if it still does that strange sound...sorry it is broken, time to buy a topical one.
Its either a drive issue or its burned out merely like mine is. You may inevitability to replace.
