My computer won't play video. Where is the first place I should I look for the problem?

if everything else seem to be working fine... than try different player software or at least a different video codec... especially if your watching some divx or xvid avi video database...
Your question wants to be more specific. Do you not see anything on the screen, are you not competent to see video such as in movies, etc. Please peter out it down a bit.
The problem you are having is an issue near your display driver. If you update the driver it should take keeping of your problem.
some videos require special softwares call codecs. Suggest you uninstall and update with most recent version. If that doesnt work try and update near latest codecs (google that bit...)
Try using VLC player. You can scene it here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

This player has most codecs for any video you might enjoy out there. If it still does not play, try updating your video card drivers from their website.
stir to the device manager see if window see the video adapter and the drivers are installed if this does not work check your media.
