Motherboard?

I hold an Intel Core 2 Duo E6320

1.86 Ghz/1066 Mhz FSB/4 MB L2 Cache/LGA 775 processor,

I have 2 gigs DDR2 RAM and a geforce 7300GT 256 MB vid card.

right very soon i have a Biostar P4M900 MIcro 775 Motherboard..

Ive tried overclocking it, but it simply can't fiddle with anything more than the default speeds @ 266 Mhz. for 1.86 Ghz. I could push for conceivably 5% of an increase in clock speed to conceivably 270 Mhz but anything higher fail.

I've been told that the Core 2 Duo, especially mine can overlcock extremely capably and up to 3.0 Ghz.

Seems the problem is my cheap motherboard.

Any recommendations on what type to gain? (the supports the intel core 2 duo) and maybe how much it might cost?

Also would i own to reinstall the OS if i got a trial mobo??

Thanks for your help!

Motherboard?

Abit Socket 775 MATX Abit Fatal1ty F-I90HD You can carry it from Eaglebit.com for 121.00 including shipping. It is a great board. Yes, you will have to reinstall Windows after you install the exotic motherboard.
I suggest you go to NewEgg.com, flush for the corresponding motherboard category (Intel, Core 2 Duo), and read the user rarings and comments for the various offerings.

They are relatively entertaining, and their ratings (as a group) are usually on the spot.

They usually emphasize on the overclocking capability of the motherboards (the Core 2 Duo itself is quite over-clockable).
I agree beside Goltain. Below is a link to newegg's selection for your processor. Read the customer reviews and select the one that best suits your needs.
