Looking for a portable drive that will work next to the antiquated usb setup?

I own a 5 year old computer that I would approaching to offload to a portable drive. I need to know which if any will work beside the older USB ports

if by older you tight-fisted 1.1, then any 2.0 drive will work, they'll a moment ago be slower.
They will all work next to USB1...just slower!

All USB 2.0 devices will work near a computer that has USB 1.1

The lone problem you would face is finding a drive that you don't obligation drivers for.



If its not to much, I would spend $50 and get a 4gb or larger flash stick which will work...
If you want to copy files from your laptop to a USB Portable drive, any USB Portable knotty drive will work. Your laptop has Usb 1.1 ports and the newer USB Portable Hard drives are Usb 2.0, so the verbs rate will be very slow, but thats duration.



You COULD buy a PCMCIA card that allows you to plug in USB 2.0 Devices, which would allow faster verbs speed to the USB Portable drive.
