i enjoy a freaking HP INTEL BRAND NEW laptop...i have already exhanged it three times for diff other problems similar to a crack and overheating..when i thought i finally got a clothed laptop..it too has a problem specifically: when i shutdown it shuts down perfectly beside all the shut down procedures but SOMETIMES 6/10 it restarts after 6-7 sec. next i have to shut down afterwards it might shut down or sometimes again it restarts...i gave the comp hindmost they said it mite be a harddrive or software problem...and also they said it mite be a virus but i think it cant be as IT HAPPENED VERY VERY FIRST TIME.approaching after i completed the BOX SETTING of the laptop it did restart by itself so it cannot be virus...ANY HELP??
Laptop restarts after shutdown?
The problems is that the system is set to auto restart on crash. It writes a small dump file and reboots. If you disable this choice you may get the blue peak of death, but at least possible that will give you a clue as to what the problem is that cause this.
Is this XP or Vista?
battery low? Have you consent to it charge?
Sour power? Check your voltage output of your power you may have too high-ranking or too low output and it's burning out your equipment. Get a UPS to help verbs this up.
Plugging in some external hardware? Maybe you hold a virus residing on your network, USB thumb/hard drive, etc.
